Most people have experienced a Fire Alarm System in action, whether it was during school as part of a planned evacuation drill or an inadvertent alarm during an event. But rarely do people think about the basic functions and components of a fire alarm system.

A public address system (PA system) is an electronic system comprising microphones, amplifiers, loudspeakers, and related equipment. It increases the apparent volume (loudness) of a human voice, musical instrument or other acoustic sound source or recorded sound or music. PA systems are used in any public venue that requires that an announcer or automatic be sufficiently audible at a distance or over a large area. Typical applications include sports stadiums, public transportation vehicles and facilities, and live or recorded music venues and events. A PA system may include multiple microphones or other sound sources, a mixing console to combine and modify multiple sources, and multiple amplifiers and loudspeakers for louder volume or wider distribution.

Fire Protection Gas Suppression System or simply called as Automatic Fire Suppression System (or Gas Suppression System), is relatively a new technology in India. Unlike conventional system that use water, in Gas Based Fire Suppression System; water is never used and yet the fire is extinguished. Here Gas is used to extinguish the fire. Hence it is a Gas Based system. The fire gets extinguished, within a minute of activation and everything is automatic.

It consists of three basic parts:

• a large store of water in tanks, either underground or on top of the building, called fire storage tanks
• a specialised pumping system,
• a large network of pipes ending in either hydrants or sprinklers (nearly all buildings require both of these systems)

A building management system, otherwise known as a building automation system, is a computer-based control system installed in buildings that controls and monitors the building’s mechanical and electrical equipment such as ventilation, lighting, power systems, fire systems, and security systems.
